So much for life without parole...

How much you wanna bet the prosecutors in this case will rethink seeking the death penalty? It's times like this that I have a strong (yet fleeting) desire to spend the remainder of my life toiling away as a DA. Alas, I just have to take comfort in knowing Caylee is going to have her bestest Christmas yet while her monster of a mother rots in jail. Good riddance, Casey...

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
Galatians 6:7-8

I am SO very angry about what happened to this baby girl. It makes me sick. I just wanted to get your opinion on the grandparents - what do you think about them?

I really wish they would put her in the General Population. Ginger, you didn't ask but I will give you my opinion on the grandparents. If they support her after this, then my opinion of them is just as low as Casey. I know if this were me, I wouldn't have to worry about the death sentence. As bad as this sounds, and believe me it makes me sick to think it, I really hope Caylee was somehow unconscious or asleep when all this happened. I could not imagine what was going on in her little mind if she wasn't. I would like to think there is a special kind of hell for people like Casey Anthony.

Can they go back and ask for the death penalty?

I've heard that they can.

Ginger, I think Casey Anthony as a whole speaks volumes about the parents. They are the very definition of "enablers" and I feel that something somewhere along the way happened to Casey Anthony to turn her into such a heartless wench. While each adult has to ultimately take responsibility for their actions, I hope the parents eventually face criminal charges for what I perceive to be hindering prosecution. Her father is an ex-cop so he should absolutely, unequivocally know better. Her mother seems downright evil. I feel fairly certain I would punch either/all of the Anthony women in the face if we ever crossed paths.

Lacey, there is some (leaked) evidence to suggest that chloroform was used on little Caylee and that would leave one to believe she probably was unconscious at the time of death. However, duct tape over the mouth is a very disturbing finding to say the least.

Lastly, you can most certainly ask for the death penalty at this point. Prosecution can only "seek" or suggest the death penalty in any case... it is ultimately the judge that imposes it. In fact, a jury can only recommend it (at least in most states but I'm not sure if that varies state to state.) Nothing is final until this case is what they would call "adjudicated." In fact, the prosecution has recently said they would revisit the death penalty issue. I believe The ONLY reason they did not seek it initially is that the lack of a body left a small degree of reasonable doubt and they probably didn't want to go "all or nothing" with the jury and press their luck, just to see Casey walk. Things have now changed dramatically and she has done nothing but lie, lie, and lie some more since this whole thing started so they will in all likelihood NOT even dream of offering her a plea deal. They don't need her to tell them where the body is, etc... not that she is even capable of telling the truth anyway. She can kiss it all goodbye now... this is Florida and they'll inject her like a Thanksgiving Day turkey when it's all over.

I actually think they are "enablers" to say the very least - I can't help but feeling they are somehow involved. That is SUCH a terrible assumption, I know, but there have just been too many lies and I just feel like they are probably a lot more involved than they originally let on.
I kept hoping that she was alive - especially when the photo of her in the mall surfaced. I hope and pray that she did not suffer - it's almost too much to think about, especially with my Mary being almost the same age as Caylee. The fact that Casey was capable of not only researching and planning to take the life of her child, but to be able to follow through with it is absolutely unimaginable. I hope she rots in hell - and soon.

Wow, I should really proofread. The first paragraph refers to Casey's parents.
The first sentence in the second paragraph should say "- especially when the photo of the little girl in the mall who looked like her surfaced."

The duct tape is what made me afraid that she wasn't. I can't wrap my brain around the whole thing. I know most of the time when the insanity plea is used, it shouldn't be, but honestly something has to be wrong with people like her.
